Question: how long would it take for acid to burn a fully grown body? sorry gory stuff
Asked by cog123 to Paddy on 21 Jun 2011.
answered on 21 Jun 2011:
Well, it depends on the acidity of the acid and the temperature. But if we assume it is very acid (maybe pH 1) and room temperature, and we’re talking an about and average height, average weight human body, i would guess about a week.

I worked at a coking plant and one of the other things they did was make sulphuric acid. On the operator of the acid plant took me to the top of the tank to look in and told me that a couple of years ago the previous operator had fallen in. I could not wait to get down, I did not want to know ant more. He survived by the way but was very badly burnt.
