• Question: Have you ever done any tests with crystals that you haven't published and we might need to know?

      Oi! Now that would be telling! No, there isn’t anything at the minute that I haven’t written up in an academic journal that really needs to be published.
      The danger with not publishing some exciting or interesting results is that someone else will beat you to it and then their name will be associated with the work rather than yours. When you’ve been working really hard on something it’s not very nice for someone else to get all the credit!
      Communication of results to the scientific community, if not the general public, is the most important bit of doing research in many ways. Nice question!
