I would really like to go to Madagascar (http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00ymh67) to see the amazing ecosystems they have there, and especially to see the lemurs. I’d also like to work in conservation on Madagascar. Like on the Galapagos Islands, there are many species that exist only on Madagascar (e.g all lemur species) and nowhere else in the word (this is called endemism). Unfortunately there is a lot of deforestation in Madagascar and many of these unique species are on the brink of extinction. I’d love to go there to see it, and to try to help save it.
I’d really love to see the GBT (Green bank Telescope) in America – it is unbelievably big! http://www.gb.nrao.edu/
And I quite like bluegrass music too.
There are so many!
I’d like to go to Antarctica (which isn’t actually a country in it’s own right!). It would be amazing to see the cold desert-like landscape and to find out how cold it actually is. Living there would be an experience in it’s own right. I’d also like to see the geology – I saw some amazing fossils of trees from Antarctica during my undergraduate degree. The wild life would also be pretty cool (no pun intended… sorry) – with penguins and seals. To see Elephant Island where Shackleton’s crew from the Endurance got stuck (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_Trans-Antarctic_Expedition) and to see Scott’s base would also be pretty awesome.
I would like to Utah in America to Bryce canyon and marvel at the amazing rock formations (as seen in all the Westerns). Then hop over the border into Arizona and walk down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, I think it takes a couple of days. Not so sure about the walking up the other side
