      40 years!

      Slightly longer than Chris. There have been great advances in science since we started. Computers have got smaller, down from filling a room. Colour TV had been thought of but did not work. Mobile phones did not exist.

      10 years – that’s since the start of my undergraduate degree. Funny, it only seems like yesterday I started… :-s

      In practice, I’ve been taking things apart and burning things since I was 8 (i.e. experimenting). Really, though, I started when I left school and volunteered on various field biology projects to get experience of what it was like and to see if I wanted to do it full-time, later in life.
